Stepwise Method:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). This step is crucial for achieving that perfect rise.
- Spray your 9-inch round cake pan with oil to prevent sticking. You can also line the bottom with parchment paper for added assurance.
- In a large mixing bowl, crack the 5 eggs. Using a whisk or electric mixer, beat the eggs until they are frothy and have doubled in size. This should take about 3-5 minutes.
- Gently fold in the 250g of Nutella into the beaten eggs. Use a spatula to combine until smooth. If you’re adding cocoa powder, sprinkle it in at this stage and mix until fully incorporated.
- Pour the batter into your prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly with your spatula.
- Place the cake in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

- Ensure your eggs are at room temperature for better aeration.
- Don’t overmix the batter; folding gently will keep the cake light and fluffy.
