Ingredients

  • 1 medium head cauliflower (about 1 ½ lbs, cored and chopped)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 1-2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil or avocado oil

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Start by washing and drying your cauliflower head. Cut it into bite-sized florets, making sure to include the small leaves and as much of the stalk as you desire.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin seeds, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using). Add the chopped cauliflower to the bowl and drizzle with 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil or avocado oil. Toss everything together until the cauliflower is evenly coated with the spice mixture.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). This step is crucial to achieving that crispy texture we’re after.
  4. Once preheated, place the seasoned cauliflower in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even browning.
  5. Once your cauliflower is ready, remove it from the air fryer and serve it immediately. It’s delicious on its own or paired with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, use the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Feel free to experiment with different spices like Italian seasoning or curry powder for varied flavors.
