Ingredients

  • 1 pound lump crabmeat ensure drained and picked through

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs provides crispy coating

Method
 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the large egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
  2. Gently fold in the lump crabmeat, being careful not to break up the lumps too much. Add the finely chopped green onions and parsley, mixing just until combined.
  3. Sprinkle in the panko breadcrumbs. Gently fold until the breadcrumbs are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  4. Using your hands, form the crab mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. Place the formed crab cakes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  6. Lightly spray the crab cakes with olive oil spray. Place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Once cooked, remove the crab cakes from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Store leftover crab cakes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For longer storage, freeze uncooked crab cakes for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat frozen crab cakes in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for about 15-18 minutes.
