Ingredients

For the Salmon:
  • 2 6-ounce salmon filets (about 1 to 1½ inches thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Meat thermometer
  • Tongs
  • Baking sheet or plate

Method

Instructions:
  1. Begin by patting the salmon filets dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a crispy exterior. Place the filets on a clean plate or cutting board.
  2. Drizzle the olive oil over the salmon filets, ensuring they are evenly coated. Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning generously on both sides of the filets, followed by a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This step ensures that the salmon cooks evenly and gets that desirable crisp.
  4. Carefully place the salmon filets in the air fryer basket, skin side down (if applicable). Make sure not to overcrowd the basket for optimal air circulation. Cook for 8-10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the filets and your preferred doneness.
  5. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the salmon. It should reach 145°F (63°C) for safe consumption. If needed, return the filets to the air fryer for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Once cooked, remove the salmon from the air fryer using tongs. Serve immediately with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • To keep salmon fresh, store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Feel free to experiment with different seasonings like lemon pepper or garlic powder.
  • For a unique flavor, try adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.
