Prep Time 15 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 4 servings
Course: Salad, Side Dish
Cuisine: Asian

Ingredients

  • 6 cups bite-sized broccoli flowerets
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 3/4 cup chopped mint leaves
  • 3/4 cup chopped peanuts

Equipment

  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups
  • Tongs or salad servers

Method

  1. Start by washing the broccoli thoroughly under cold water. Cut the broccoli into bite-sized flowerets, ensuring they are uniform in size for even mixing.
  2. Using a sharp knife, thinly slice the red onion. If you find the flavor too strong, you can soak the slices in cold water for a few minutes to mellow the taste.
  3. Rinse the mint leaves under cold water and pat them dry. Stack the leaves, roll them tightly, and slice them into thin ribbons.
  4. If your peanuts are whole, chop them into smaller pieces to enhance the crunch factor.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, add the broccoli flowerets, sliced red onion, chopped mint, and peanuts. Toss everything together gently to ensure even distribution.
  6. Drizzle your favorite Asian-style dressing over the salad. Toss again to coat all ingredients evenly.
  7. Transfer your Asian Broccoli Salad to a serving dish and garnish with additional peanuts or mint if desired. Serve immediately or let it chill for about 30 minutes.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Keep dressing separate until serving to maintain crispness.
  • Add seasonal ingredients like shredded carrots or edamame for variation.
