Servings: 4 servings
Course: Sauce
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado peeled, pitted, and roughly chopped
  • 1 large handful fresh cilantro finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Equipment

  • Blender or food processor
  • Measuring spoons
  • Chopping knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Start by collecting all the ingredients on your shopping list. Make sure your avocado is ripe for the best flavor and texture.
  2. Carefully peel and pit the avocado, then chop it roughly. This will make it easier to blend into a smooth sauce.
  3. Finely chop the fresh cilantro, ensuring there are no large pieces left. This will help to distribute the cilantro flavor evenly throughout the sauce.
  4. In your blender or food processor, combine the chopped avocado, cilantro, fresh lime juice, mayonnaise, and kosher salt.
  5. Blend the mixture on high speed until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure everything is well incorporated.
  6. After blending, taste the avocado sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary. If you prefer a tangier flavor, feel free to add more lime juice.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it fresh.
  • Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to prevent browning.
  • Enjoy within 2-3 days for the best flavor and freshness!
