Course: Dip, Spread
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 large avocado (160g avocado flesh)
  • 1 tablespoon tahini (16g)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Fork or potato masher
  • Citrus Juicer
  • Measuring spoons
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Start by cutting the avocado in half and removing the pit. Scoop the avocado flesh into your mixing bowl. Make sure it's ripe for the best texture – it should be slightly soft to the touch.
  2. Using your fork or potato masher, mash the avocado until you achieve your desired level of creaminess. Some like it smooth, while others prefer a bit of chunkiness for texture—it's totally up to you!
  3. To the mashed avocado, add the tahini, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Using your spatula, mix all the ingredients together until everything is well combined. Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more lemon juice, salt, or pepper if desired.
  5. Once your avocado spread is ready, you can serve it immediately. If you're not using it right away, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the spread before sealing the container to store it properly.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
  • Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to prevent browning.
  • Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored for up to 2 days in the fridge.
