Ingredients

  • 1 banana frozen
  • 1 teaspoon ginger root grated
  • 1 kiwifruit peeled
  • 1/2 avocado peeled and seeded
  • 1 cup kale packed (remove stem from the middle and discard)
  • 1 cup red grapes frozen
  • 1 cup green tea chilled (home brewed with no sweeteners added)

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Glass

Method

  1. Gather all the ingredients listed above to make the blending process smoother.
  2. Wash the kale thoroughly to remove any dirt or grit, and remove the stem from the middle of the kale leaves.
  3. Peel the kiwifruit and avocado, and chop them into manageable pieces. If your banana is not frozen, slice it and freeze for a few hours.
  4. In your blender, combine the frozen banana, grated ginger root, chopped kiwifruit, avocado, kale, frozen red grapes, and chilled green tea. Add the ice cubes last.
  5. Blend on high speed until all ingredients are well combined and smooth. Add more green tea or water if too thick.
  6. Taste the smoothie and adjust flavors if needed. Add honey or agave syrup for extra sweetness if desired.
  7. Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately, optionally topping with chia seeds or fresh fruit slices.

Notes

  • Using frozen fruits enhances the creamy texture of the smoothie.
  • Feel free to experiment with other greens like spinach for a different flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of ginger based on your taste preference for a spicier kick.
