Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides.
In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the stick of salted butter and dark chocolate melts or chips. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
Once the chocolate mixture has cooled slightly, whisk in the granulated sugar until combined. Then, add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the batter is glossy and thick.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the chocolate batter until just combined.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
Bake in your preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper. Allow them to cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
