  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas drained and rinsed
  • 3/4 cup walnuts finely chopped
  • 3 Tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 2-3 Tbsp nutritional yeast optional for a cheesy flavor

Method
 

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. Drain and rinse the chickpeas under cold water.
  2. In a food processor, add the walnuts and pulse until finely chopped.
  3. In the food processor, add the rinsed chickpeas, chopped walnuts, taco seasoning, and water. Pulse until combined but still textured.
  4. Heat your skillet over medium heat. Add the chickpea-walnut mixture and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until heated through and slightly crispy.
  5. Your Chickpea-Walnut Taco Crumbles are now ready to be served! Use them as filling for tacos or as a topping for salads.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add a dash of cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeños.
  • Consider adding a teaspoon of maple syrup for sweetness.
