Ingredients
  

  • 2/3 cup tahini creamy sesame paste
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup, honey, or agave liquid sweetener
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract enhances flavor
  • 1/2 cup flour choose from spelt, white, oat, sorghum, or almond flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda helps bars rise
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips add for chocolate goodness

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine tahini, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda. Gradually add to wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out using parchment paper and cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.
