Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 2 pieces Chuck Eye Steaks (8-10 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley (chopped)

Equipment

  • Cast iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan
  • Tongs
  • Meat thermometer
  • Cutting board

Method

Instructions
  1. Step 1: Preparing the Steak - Start by taking your Chuck Eye Steaks out of the refrigerator. Allow them to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Step 2: Seasoning - Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Drizzle olive oil over the steaks and rub it in. Season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika on both sides.
  3. Step 3: Searing - Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Place the steaks in the skillet and sear for about 4–5 minutes on one side.
  4. Step 4: Flipping - Flip the steaks and cook for another 4–5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting for your preferred doneness.
  5. Step 5: Adding Flavor - In the last minute, add butter and minced garlic to the skillet, basting the steaks with the garlic-infused butter.
  6. Step 6: Resting - Transfer the steaks to a cutting board, sprinkle with parsley, and let them rest for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Step 7: Serving - Slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness: 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium.
  • Letting the steak rest is crucial for juiciness.
  • Experiment with different seasonings like rosemary or thyme.
