Cookies and Cream Muddy Buddies are an addictive, crunchy snack with a perfect blend of Oreo cookies, chocolate, and peanut butter. Easy to make and impossible to resist!

Ingredients
  

  • 9 cups Chex cereal any kind - rice, corn, or a mix
  • 15 pieces Oreo cookies crushed into small pieces
  • 0.5 cup butter salted or unsalted
  • 0.5 cup peanut butter smooth
  • 1 cup milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips choose your favorite
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Microwave-safe bowl or double boiler
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Large resealable plastic bag or a big bowl with a lid
  • Baking sheet or large tray

Method
 

  1. Place the 9 cups of Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl. Add the 15 Oreo cookies, crushed into small chunks or crumbs. Gently toss to distribute evenly.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine ½ cup butter, ½ cup peanut butter, and 1 cup chocolate chips. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth and melted. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the cereal and Oreo mixture. Gently fold with a spatula or wooden spoon to coat all pieces evenly.
  4. Transfer the coated cereal mix into a large resealable plastic bag or bowl with lid. Add 1 cup powdered sugar, seal, and shake vigorously until well coated.
  5. Spread the muddy buddies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow to cool and set for about 30 minutes. Store in airtight container or serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use any Chex cereal variety for different textures and flavors.
  • Ensure the chocolate and peanut butter mixture is warm but not hot before coating to avoid stickiness.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for up to one month.
