  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns freshly ground
  • 3 teaspoons onion salt
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
For the Sandwich:
  • 1 brisket flat fat cap removed
  • 1 bottle BBQ sauce choose between Buc-ee's or Stubbs Original
  • Hamburger buns soft and pillowy

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Brisket - Preheat your smoker or oven to 225°F (107°C). Pat the brisket dry with paper towels.
  2. Step 2: Make the Spice Rub - In a mixing bowl, combine the salt, black peppercorns, onion salt, chili powder, turmeric, and brown sugar. Mix well.
  3. Step 3: Season the Brisket - Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket. Let sit for about 30 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Smoking the Brisket - Cook the brisket in the smoker for about 1.5 to 2 hours per pound until it reaches 195°F (90°C).
  5. Step 5: Resting the Meat - Let the brisket rest for at least 30 minutes, wrapped in foil.
  6. Step 6: Slice and Serve - Slice the brisket against the grain and serve on hamburger buns with BBQ sauce.
