  • 14.5 ounces whole peeled tomatoes with juice
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro (optional)

  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients. Dice the yellow onion and chop the fresh cilantro (if using).
  2. In your blender or food processor, add the diced jalapeño chiles, diced tomatoes with green chilies, whole peeled tomatoes with their juice, diced yellow onion, garlic salt, cumin, and sugar. If you’re feeling adventurous, squeeze in the lime juice and toss in the fresh cilantro.
  3. Pulse the mixture until it reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Taste your salsa and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  5. Transfer your salsa to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
