Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 116-ounce container Cottage Cheese (full-fat or low-fat)
  • 1 15-ounce can Crushed Pineapple (drained)
  • 1 13-ounce box Powdered Gelatin (any flavor)
  • 1 18-ounce container Whipped Topping (thawed)
  • Fresh Fruit for Garnish (such as strawberries, cherries, or raspberries)

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk or Spoon
  • Measuring cups
  • Serving dish
  • Refrigerator

Method

  1. Start by preparing the gelatin according to the package instructions. Typically, you’ll dissolve the gelatin powder in boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Let it cool slightly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the cottage cheese. Stir in the drained crushed pineapple until well combined.
  3. Once the gelatin has cooled but is not set, pour it into the cottage cheese mixture. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until everything is evenly mixed.
  4. Transfer the mixture into your serving dish. Cover with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator. Let it chill for at least 4 hours, or until it is firm and set.
  5. Once the salad is set, remove it from the refrigerator. Garnish with fresh fruit on top for added color and flavor. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

  • Chill overnight for the best flavor.
  • Adjust gelatin amount for firmness preference.
  • Add mini marshmallows or nuts for extra texture.
