Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 medium jalapeño peppers halved lengthwise and seeded

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or piping bag
  • Oven or Air Fryer

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) for a perfectly crispy exterior.
  2. Carefully slice the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds. Wear gloves to avoid irritation.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until creamy.
  4. Using a spoon or piping bag, fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture, packing it well.
  5. Place the filled jalapeños on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced evenly.
  6. Bake the poppers for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and jalapeños are tender. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes if desired.
  7. Let the poppers cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • For milder poppers, use larger jalapeños.
  • Add breadcrumbs on top for extra crunch before baking.
  • Experiment with herbs like cilantro for a fresh twist.
  • Double the batch and freeze for quick snacks later.
