Ingredients

For the Chicken:
  • 4-6 pieces chicken legs (drumsticks)
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Meat thermometer
  • Tongs

Method

Instructions:
  1. Start by rinsing the chicken legs under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels. This step is crucial as it helps the skin get crispy during cooking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the paprika, Italian seasoning, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a flavorful spice blend.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken legs, ensuring they are well-coated. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the chicken, using your hands to rub the seasoning into the meat for maximum flavor.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned chicken legs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not touching.
  6. Air fry the chicken legs for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken legs from the air fryer using tongs and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, pop them back into the air fryer for a few minutes.
  • You can freeze cooked chicken legs for longer storage; wrap them tightly to prevent freezer burn.
