Ingredients

  • 16 ounces refrigerated biscuits (like Pillsbury)
  • 1 cup white sugar for rolling
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (ground)
  • 3 tablespoons butter (melted)

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Cookie Cutter
  • Baking sheet

Method

  1. Open the can of refrigerated biscuits. Using a cookie cutter or a small glass, cut a hole in the center of each biscuit to create the donut shape. Don’t throw away the dough you cut out; you can also fry those for donut holes!
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). This step is crucial for achieving that perfect golden color and fluffy texture.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the white sugar and ground cinnamon. Stir until well mixed. This will be used to coat the donuts after they’re cooked.
  4. In a small bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove. This will help the cinnamon-sugar mixture adhere to the donuts.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the donuts in a single layer in the basket, making sure not to overcrowd them. Air fry for about 5-6 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Once the donuts are cooked, immediately brush them with melted butter and then roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated. This step adds a deliciously sweet crunch!
  7. Allow the donuts to cool slightly before serving. They are best enjoyed warm, fresh out of the air fryer. Feel free to get creative with toppings like chocolate glaze, sprinkles, or even a drizzle of honey!

Notes

  • For best results, do not overcrowd the air fryer; cook in batches if necessary.
  • Keep an eye on the donuts as they cook, as air fryer models may vary in cooking time.
  • If you prefer a chocolate glaze, melt some semi-sweet chocolate chips and dip the cooled donuts for a decadent treat.
  • Using a silicone baking mat in the air fryer can help prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
