  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • a pinch finely cracked pepper
Liquid Ingredients:
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice omit if using buttermilk

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or Spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Storage container

Method

Directions:
  1. Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients. Start by gathering all the ingredients listed above. This makes the process smoother and more enjoyable.
  2. Step 2: Combine the Base Ingredients. In a mixing bowl, add the 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt (or mayonnaise) and 1 cup of sour cream. Use a whisk or spoon to combine them until smooth.
  3. Step 3: Add the Herbs and Spices. Next, mix in the 1 teaspoon of dried dill weed, 1 teaspoon of dried parsley, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, and 1 teaspoon of kosher salt. Stir until all the herbs and spices are evenly distributed.
  4. Step 4: Incorporate the Milk and Lemon Juice. Pour in 1 cup of milk (or buttermilk) and add the 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. Mix well until the dressing reaches your desired consistency. If you prefer a thinner dressing, you can add more milk.
  5. Step 5: Taste and Adjust. Give your ranch dressing a taste test. If you like it a bit more tangy, consider adding a little more lemon juice or salt as needed.
  6. Step 6: Chill and Serve. Transfer your Easy Ranch Dressing to a storage container. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld. Serve with your favorite salads, veggies, or as a dip!

Notes

  • This dressing can be made up to a week in advance; just stir before serving.
  • For a lighter dressing, use milk instead of buttermilk.
  • Experiment with fresh herbs for an added flavor boost.
