Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups white whole wheat flour or whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Almond Breeze Unsweetened Original Almondmilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Fresh fruit, maple syrup, and whipped cream for serving

Equipment

  • Waffle iron
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Gather all your ingredients and measuring tools. This will make the process smoother and more enjoyable.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the white whole wheat flour, old fashioned oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the Almond Breeze Unsweetened Original Almondmilk, eggs, melted butter, honey (or brown sugar), and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine!
  5. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to preheat your waffle iron. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of melted butter for extra crispiness.
  6. Scoop about 1/2 cup of batter (or according to your iron's requirements) onto the preheated waffle iron. Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crispy. This usually takes about 5-7 minutes, depending on your waffle iron.
  7. Once cooked, remove the waffles and place them on a wire rack to cool completely. This prevents them from becoming soggy. After cooling, you can freeze them or serve immediately.

Notes

  • These waffles freeze well, so make a big batch for easy breakfast options.
