Ingredients

  • 1 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce
  • 1 pound jumbo shrimp (tail on, about 10 to 12 shrimp)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Spatula or tongs
  • Serving dish

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the low sodium soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sriracha sauce. Ensure all ingredients are well combined to create a delicious marinade.
  2. Add the jumbo shrimp to the marinade, ensuring they are fully submerged. Let them marinate for at least 15-30 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse into the shrimp.
  3. Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Allow it to become hot before adding the shrimp for optimal searing.
  4. Once the skillet is hot, add the marinated shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.
  5. Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the skillet and transfer them to a serving dish. Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the top for a fresh touch and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Store leftover shrimp in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat to avoid overcooking.
  • For longer storage, freeze marinated shrimp in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Thaw before cooking.
