How to Cook Tortellini

Ingredients
  

For the Dish:
  • 1 package Cheese Tortellini
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 small Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 large Can of Crushed Tomatoes
  • 4 cups Fresh Spinach
  • to taste Seasonings salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, thyme, oregano, cumin, dried basil, raw sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Flour
  • ½ cup Milk
  • ½ cup Heavy Cream
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese freshly grated

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Skillet
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Colander

Method
 

Cooking Instructions:
  1. Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Step 2: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, then add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Step 3: Pour crushed tomatoes into the skillet, season, and let the sauce simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Stir in spinach and let it wilt. Whisk flour with milk and pour into the sauce, stirring until thickened.
  5. Step 5: Add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and combined. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Step 6: Fold the cooked tortellini into the sauce and serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute any vegetables or cheese based on availability.
  • This dish can be made ahead and stored separately for best results.
  • Reheat gently, adding a splash of milk for creaminess.
