Ingredients
  

For the Hummus:
  • 1 15-ounce can garbanzo beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 medium clove garlic peeled and smashed
  • 1 whole lemon juiced
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup water add additional tablespoons as needed for smooth consistency
  • to taste salt
  • Optional garnishes extra-virgin olive oil, chopped cilantro, parsley, or a sprinkle of paprika

Method
 

Instructions:
  1. Start by gathering all your ingredients: garbanzo beans, garlic, lemon, tahini, and water.
  2. In your food processor, combine the garbanzo beans, garlic, tahini, and lemon juice. Blend until they start to break down.
  3. While the food processor is running, slowly add the water to create a creamy consistency. Add more water if needed.
  4. Taste your hummus and add salt to your liking. Blend again to incorporate.
  5. Transfer your hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and garnish with herbs and paprika.

Notes

  • Hummus can be made a day ahead for improved flavors.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
  • Hummus can be frozen for up to three months; thaw overnight in the fridge before serving.
