Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 cup room temperature water
  • 1 tablespoon Oil or oil spray for greasing the egg cups
  • 4 large eggs fresh
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Equipment

  • Instant Pot
  • Egg cups or silicone molds
  • Measuring cup
  • Spatula
  • Non-stick cooking spray or oil

Method

Directions
  1. Start by pouring 1 cup of room temperature water into the bottom of your Instant Pot. This will create the necessary steam to cook your eggs.
  2. Lightly grease your egg cups or silicone molds with oil or non-stick cooking spray. This step is crucial to prevent the eggs from sticking and ensures easy removal after cooking.
  3. Crack one egg into each greased cup. If you’re using silicone molds, you can place them in the Instant Pot directly. If using metal cups, make sure they fit securely in the pot.
  4. Close the lid of the Instant Pot and turn the pressure valve to the sealing position.
  5. Select the “Steam” function and set the timer for 3 minutes. For softer yolks, you can go for 2 minutes, while a firmer yolk might require 4 minutes.
  6. Once the timer goes off, perform a quick release by carefully moving the pressure valve to the venting position. Keep your hands and face away from the steam to avoid burns.
  7. Once the steam has fully released, carefully open the lid. Use a spatula to gently lift the eggs out of the cups. They should slide out easily if properly greased.
  8. Season the poached eggs with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately over toast, salad, or any dish of your choice.

Notes

  • Use fresh eggs for the best results.
  • Adjust cooking time for desired yolk consistency.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
