Ingredients

  • 67 g granulated sugar
  • 150 g packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 186 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 155 g Kit Kat strips separated and broken into thirds (about 10 fun-sized bars)
  • 85 g white chocolate chips or milk or semi-sweet

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer
  • Spatula
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Cookie scoop

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat Your Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and packed light brown sugar. Beat until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Add the Egg and Vanilla: Add the large egg and the teaspoon of pure vanilla extract to the mixture. Beat until fully incorporated.
  4. Step 4: Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Step 5: Mix Dry Ingredients with Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Step 6: Fold in the Kit Kats and Chocolate Chips: Use a spatula to gently fold in the Kit Kat pieces and white chocolate chips.
  7. Step 7: Scoop and Bake: Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Step 8: Cool and Enjoy: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
