Start by softening your Nutella. Place it in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds until it’s easy to stir.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and salt. Whisk these dry ingredients together until they are well mixed.
In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until smooth. Then, add the melted butter or vegetable oil and the softened Nutella. Mix until you have a cohesive mixture.
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Gently fold the two mixtures together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.
Preheat your non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease it with some additional butter or oil.
Once the skillet is hot, pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set. Flip the pancakes and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.
Transfer the pancakes to a serving plate and stack them high. Top with fresh fruit like sliced strawberries or bananas, and drizzle with maple syrup if desired.
