Ingredients
  

For the Pastry:
  • 2 batches Gluten Free Crescent Rolls dough
  • 2 packages refrigerated crescent rolls
For the Filling:
  • 8 ounces softened cream cheese regular or light
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Nutella or other chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for dusting
  • 2 teaspoons milk

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven - Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the Dough - Unroll the refrigerated crescent rolls into triangles or follow the package instructions for gluten-free dough.
  3. Step 3: Make the Cream Cheese Filling - Combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Step 4: Assemble the Pastries - Spread about 1 tablespoon of cream cheese mixture followed by 1 tablespoon of Nutella on each triangle of dough.
  5. Step 5: Roll and Seal - Roll the dough from the wide end to the pointed end and pinch the edges to seal.
  6. Step 6: Brush with Egg Wash - Whisk together remaining egg and milk, then brush the mixture on top of the pastries.
  7. Step 7: Bake - Place pastries on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Step 8: Cool and Dust - Let pastries cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Add chopped hazelnuts or chocolate chips to the Nutella for added texture.
  • Experiment with spices like cinnamon in the cream cheese mixture for a unique twist.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
