Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 cup peanut butter Use creamy or crunchy, depending on your preference.
  • 1 cup sugar Granulated sugar works best for the sweetness.
  • 2 large eggs These provide structure and moisture.
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk This adds richness and sweetness.
  • 2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate melted and cooled
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the overall flavor.
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped peanuts For a delightful crunch.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Baking dish (9x9 inches)
  • Spatula
  • Whisk
  • Oven mitts

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures that your bars bake evenly.
  2. Grease your 9x9-inch baking dish, or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, and eggs. Use a whisk to mix until smooth. Then, add the melted and cooled unsweetened baking chocolate and vanilla extract. Stir until everything is well combined.
  4. Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk to the mixture, stirring continuously until fully blended. This will give your bars that rich, fudgy texture.
  5. Fold in the coarsely chopped peanuts using a spatula, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly with the spatula.
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Ensure your ingredients are at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Do not overbake; the bars will continue to firm up as they cool.
  • For a deeper chocolate flavor, consider using dark chocolate instead of unsweetened.
  • If you prefer a softer bar, reduce the baking time by a few minutes.
