Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Creamy unsweetened peanut butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 tablespoon Melted coconut oil
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate
  • 2 teaspoons Coconut oil or 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 60 pieces Pecan halves five per turtle
  • to taste Coarse sea salt optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Microwave or Double Boiler
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Spoon or small scoop

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Baking Sheet - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
  2. Step 2: Make the Peanut Butter Mixture - In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and melted coconut oil. Mix until smooth.
  3. Step 3: Form the Turtles - Portion the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and shape into small discs. Press five pecan halves on top of each.
  4. Step 4: Melt the Chocolate - Melt the chocolate chips with coconut oil or butter until smooth.
  5. Step 5: Coat the Turtles - Dip each turtle into the melted chocolate and place back on the baking sheet.
  6. Step 6: Add Sea Salt - Sprinkle sea salt on top of each turtle before the chocolate sets.
  7. Step 7: Chill to Set - Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate is set.
  8. Step 8: Enjoy! - Once the chocolate has hardened, your turtles are ready to enjoy!

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
  • Layer turtles with parchment paper if freezing to prevent sticking.
  • For a vegan option, use dairy-free chocolate chips.
