Ingredients

For the Dip:
  • 12 oz cream cheese or vegan cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup yogurt regular or non-dairy
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup sugar of choice regular or sugar-free alternative
For Coloring:
  • Food coloring OR a pinch of:
  • Turmeric for yellow
  • Acai powder for deep purple
  • Spirulina for green
  • Blue spirulina for blue

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Electric mixer
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Food coloring or natural powders

Method

Stepwise Method:
  1. In a large mixing bowl, add the 12 oz of cream cheese or vegan cream cheese. Allow it to soften at room temperature for about 15 minutes to make blending easier.
  2. Once the cream cheese is softened, add 1 cup of yogurt to the bowl. This will help create a light and airy texture.
  3. Pour in 1/3 cup of sugar of your choice. If you’re using monk fruit for a sugar-free option, that works perfectly too!
  4. Add in 1 tsp of pure vanilla extract. This will infuse the dip with a wonderful aroma and flavor.
  5. Using an electric mixer, blend the ingredients on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure everything is well combined.
  6. Once the base is ready, divide the mixture into separate bowls for each color you want to create. Depending on how many colors you choose, you may need 3 to 5 bowls.
  7. In each bowl, add a few drops of food coloring or a pinch of natural color powders. Mix each bowl until you achieve the desired hue, creating vibrant colors that resemble a rainbow.
  8. In a serving dish, start layering the colored mixtures. You can alternate colors or create a swirl effect for a more magical appearance.
  9. Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully. Serve with fresh fruits, graham crackers, or pretzels for a delightful treat.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness to your taste; taste before adding all the sugar.
  • Add more food coloring for a more vibrant look.
  • For a lighter dip, use Greek yogurt instead of regular yogurt.
  • Customize flavors by adding different extracts like almond or coconut.
