  • 6 slices cheese choose any variety that melts well; cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour for the ramen noodle coating
  • 1 large egg for binding the ramen noodles
  • 6 tbsp water to mix with the egg for the batter
  • 1 package Ramen Noodles discard the spice packet and crush the noodles
  • Vegetable Oil for frying

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or fork
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Start by boiling water in a pot. Once boiling, add your ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions for about 3-4 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg and water until well combined. Add the crushed ramen noodles and mix until fully coated.
  3. On one slice of bread, layer 3 slices of cheese. Top with another slice of bread to create a sandwich. Repeat for a second sandwich if desired.
  4. Dip both sides of the assembled sandwich into the ramen noodle mixture, ensuring even coating.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of vegetable oil, making sure to coat the bottom evenly.
  6. Once the oil is hot, place the coated sandwich in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  7. Once both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted, remove from the skillet, let cool for a minute, then slice in half and enjoy!
