Ingredients

For the Stir Fry:
  • 9 oz Ramen noodles (3 packages, chicken flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or canola oil
  • 1.5 cups onion diced
  • 2-3 cups fresh veggies (chopped; bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, snap peas, etc.)
  • 2 packets chicken flavor packets (from the ramen packages)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • 3/4 cup cold water
  • 1/3 cup teriyaki sauce (I used Mr. Yoshida's Gourmet)

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Stirring spatula

Method

Instructions:
  1. Begin by bringing a pot of water to a boil. Add the ramen noodles and cook according to the package instructions, usually about 3 minutes. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  2. While the noodles are cooking, chop your onions and fresh vegetables. Aim for bite-sized pieces to ensure even cooking.
  3. In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive or canola oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the diced onions and sauté until they become translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add your chopped fresh veggies to the skillet. Stir-fry for another 3-5 minutes, or until they are tender but still crisp.
  5. Add the cooked ramen noodles to the skillet with the sautéed onions and veggies. Toss to combine everything well.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the sesame oil, hoisin sauce, granulated garlic, cold water, and teriyaki sauce. Pour this mixture over the noodles and vegetables in the skillet.
  7. Sprinkle the chicken flavor packets from the ramen packages over the stir-fry. Toss everything together until all the ingredients are well-coated and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Once everything is well combined and heated, remove from heat and serve your Ramen Stir Fry hot. You can top it with sesame seeds or green onions for an extra touch if desired.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the veggies based on what you have on hand.
  • Leftovers can be frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Ensure your skillet is hot enough for a perfect stir-fry texture.
