Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter (softened to room temperature)
  • 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla (for flavor)
  • powdered sugar (to thicken if needed)

Method
 

  1. Start by ensuring your butter is at room temperature.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Gradually pour in the sweetened condensed milk while continuing to mix.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  5. If the buttercream is too soft, gradually add powdered sugar until you reach the desired thickness.
  6. Taste the buttercream and add more vanilla if desired.
  7. Frost your cakes, cupcakes, or cookies using a spatula or piping bag.

Notes

  • Store leftover buttercream in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Chill the buttercream if it gets too warm while frosting.
  • For a chocolate version, add ½ cup of cocoa powder to the butter.
