Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures that your cake bakes evenly.
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions. Pour the brownie batter into your greased 9x13-inch pan, spreading it evenly. Set aside for now.
- Step 3: In another bowl, prepare the white cake mix according to the package instructions. Once mixed well, carefully pour the cake batter over the brownie layer in the pan.
- Step 4: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Step 5: While your cake is baking, prepare the creamy topping. In a medium mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese and unsalted butter until smooth. Add in the vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and milk, mixing until creamy.
- Step 6: In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate pieces and sweetened condensed milk. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
- Step 7: Once the cake has cooled completely, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top. Drizzle the chocolate mixture on top, creating a beautiful pattern.
- Step 8: Slice into squares and serve this Vintage Brownie Surprise Cake at your next event!
Notes
- Wrap individual slices in plastic wrap and aluminum foil to freeze for up to 3 months.
- Thaw slices in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
- You can freeze the entire cake, but it’s best to frost it after thawing for the best texture.
